Dual camera in collaboration with Leica

Huawei puts at the P9 series focusing on the camera work. The company has partnered with Leica, a renowned German camera manufacturer. At the regular P9 you designated for shooting pictures at double 12 megapixel camera. Which features two separate camera sensors. The one uses an RGB-sensor, and the other has a monochrome sensor. Because the RGB sensor light filters to identify the colors, the deterioration of the photos shot during this process. The monochrome camera sensor, the images remain in detail because it does not need to filter in black and white and color shoots.

In addition, the dual camera captures more light than a regular smartphone camera, making you successful photo shoot in low light. You can also adjust the aperture, which lets you pre-, during and after shooting a picture determines which should be in focus, and how sharp the rest of the image should be. So you can choose to focus on one object and blur the rest, making for a nice depth of field effect.

Sony Xperia XA Review

The launch of the Xperia X earlier this year led to a lot of raised eyebrows in the Android world. Where competing flagships were equipped with the best chipsets of the time, Sony came up with midrange hardware packed into a high-end design. The final product did not work out quite right: in our Xperia X review we also felt that we can hardly recommend the device. However, the Xperia X-series consists of multiple devices: besides the flagship, there is also a powerful X Performance and even an entry-level model, the xA. The latter variant we discuss in this Xperia XA review.

Sleek design without premium feel

Design heritage Xperia XA know at least to equal its more expensive brothers, thanks to the almost borderless screen. Because it runs from side to side, the XA relatively compact and handy for a smartphone with 5 inch screen. That screen itself sometimes a bit disappointing, due to the relatively low resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels and the disappointing brightness. In the summer sun, the XA very difficult to read.

The Sony fails to bring that premium feel throughout the rest of the design. The manufacturer has chosen a back side a plastic, rather than metal or glass. This is also extremely stain and scratch-sensitive. The back of our white copy was after a week among all the stains and small scratches, and we really careful coped.

faltering apps

The relatively thin and compact design also seems to cause problems with heat dissipation. Use the XA uninterrupted for fifteen minutes, then the back is pretty hot. This also affects the performance. Although XA is equipped with a powerful on paper octacore MediaTek processor and 2GB of RAM, we often suffer from faltering apps. The device is warm, the image in Snapchat stutters so much that the app is almost unusable.

The device has even bother with relatively simple background processes sometimes Spotify music stops put in the background while we are browsing in Chrome. Or lying on the overheated hardware or something else we dare not say, but it is clear that it is unacceptable to a smartphone in this price range.

Battery and software

Sony Xperia XA equipped with a battery with a capacity of 2300 mAh. That is on the tight side, but the manufacturer claims that the battery saving software on the Xperia X series extends the battery life considerably. The two days without charging, however, which Sony claims we achieved remotely not. With luck and economy we achieved just the end of the day, but we had the XA more often than not interim charging.

Are you regularly Snapchat and WhatsApp, with sometimes browse between, then you have at the beginning of the evening only twenty to thirty percent over during the day. That seems to be the screen. You want to have somewhat readable by the summer sun, the brightness at maximum, but then you have the battery percentage has become very fast lower.

One big plus Sony's smartphones: the relatively minimal modifications made by the manufacturer to Android. The Xperia interface is largely similar to stock-Android. Sony has made Android more colorful and vivid, but elements such as notifications and settings are as tidy and organized as you would expect from Android.

INTERFACE IS LARGELY THE SAME AS STOCK-ANDROID
Unfortunately Sony screwed up this strength again with the large number of bundled applications. Sony (as a multimedia company) flour evert own apps for music, movies and photos, but we can understand. A PlayStation app? Ahead. But then there are also the What's New- and Xperia Lounge app, which you every few days send notifications about new Sony movies or games. To top it off, there are also apps Kobo LinkedIn and Amazon on your device. We counted a total of nearly twenty supplied, non-removable apps, and we expect even disagree with Google's own apps. Sony provides a relatively pricey smartphone unneeded applications is actually unacceptable.

The 13 megapixel camera is on the back is a bright spot because it shoots beautiful, sharp pictures. Thanks to Sony's hybrid autofocus technology, you can also focus quickly even on moving objects. Unfortunately, the camera opens itself less quickly, whenever the XA as described above what is hot here soon a second or two, three needed before you can take pictures. Videos XA do go well and the 8 megapixel camera that is paramount shoots fine selfies.

Not waterproof, no fingerprint scanner

With a suggested retail price of 300 euros, you'd expect the Xperia XA offers unique features, which the device can distinguish itself from the great competition in this price range. Unfortunately, that is not in there. Sony claims that the camera has unique features, but really impressive, we found this one. Features that we are used to from Sony, suddenly missing from the XA: the device is not waterproof, lacks a fingerprint reader and no battery that easily lasts a day or two.

That Sony seems actually to have no sense of the market in which the Xperia XA appears. The device has a suggested retail price of 299 euros, making it more expensive than, say, the Motorola Moto G4 Plus, the Nexus 5X 5X and Honor. All devices with comparable or even better hardware at a lower price. Moreover these handsets are indeed equipped with fingerprint scanners and other extras. Even Sony's own Xperia Z3 Compact, now two years old but powerful and waterproof, offers more value for 300 euros.

Nexus 6P Review

The Nexus 5X is a good all-round smartphone, particulary the fingerprint scanner and camera stand out in a positive way. But we had hoped that the battery life would be a little longer, though it is not bad. The design is simple but functional, as did the Nexus 5 two years ago. The finest on a Nexus phone warranty remains quick updates and smooth software. Although the specifications are not of the highest level, the 5X feels fast. It's a bit strange that LG has no additional cable or adapter piece ax evert to pinpoint the phone into a USB-A port. In general, no huge negatives to the Nexus 5X, which is a decent performance from LG and Google.

What is a Nexus smartphone? For a few years Google seemed to have it crystallized. Both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 were for their time midrange smartphones with many characteristics of a high-end device, such as a high resolution screen and a quick processor.

That was not always so. The first Nexus, the Nexus One in early 2010, was an HTC smartphone that Google had multiple purposes. So developers should be provided with a solid device app development with always the latest version of Android, Google producers wanted to show the way in which direction it should go on with hardware and wanted to break the power of providers through its own device only online on offer.

The latter failed grandiose, but the other two goals have succeeded on some Nexus devices. The Nexus One, Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus were all smartphones with advanced specs and striking designs. Nexus 4 and 5 were appreciated area additionally trend. Including Xiaomi and OnePlus that then jumped into the same hole.

Last year, Google surprised everyone with the Nexus 6, a significantly larger device from Motorola with a much higher price than previous Nexus smartphones. She was not diminished by everyone and therefore not the search giant comes this year with not one, but two Nexus phones; Nexus 5X LG with a 5.2 inch screen and Huawei Nexus 6P with a 5.7 inch screen.

The Nexus 6P continues and costs 649 euros the trend of the Nexus 6 also a hefty penny. The Nexus 5X should be the cheaper Nexus, but in Europe is that by slightly. The 16GB version is going to cost us 479 euros, while it costs in the United States only $ 379. It is not clear why this is so.

With a Nexus phone, you first get started with new Android versions and that will be a reason for many to consider this smartphone.

With Nexus 5 you paid to run stock Android a toll in the form of a professional camera and battery life. Thus, it is not at the 5X; This is in many ways a great smartphone and on some fronts, it is even very good. Especially in low light shines off the camera: in that area, he even beats the Samsung Galaxy S6. In addition, the screen looks more beautiful thanks to the improved contrast ratio. But we would have liked the maximum brightness just might be higher, since that is practical as the sun shines a lot.

Although the Nexus 5X has a longer battery life than the Nexus 5, it is still not a high flyer. However, he can compete with the most direct competitors. This is the biggest irritations compared to the Nexus 5 rectified but Nexus users are in our experience often heavy users so bring a charger.  5X therefore still not a luxury. Because of the USB-C connector it is always advisable to have a charger with you.

In everyday use the Nexus 5X is very responsive and shows virtually no delays or hitches, even when used intensively. This is partly because he is running stock Android without extra layer over the operating system, such as other producers usually implement. The fingerprint scanner is a big factor in the sense of speed at 5X.

Whether you like the Nexus 5X or not is of course subjective and divided opinions. Its design is simple, although the slope camera and fingerprint scanner him give a unique appearance. He is lightweight and keeps it fixed fine. That the speaker has not really improved since gone Nexus 5, we find regrettable.

Thanks to its relatively high suggested retail Nexus 5X does not offer the same prize money as its predecessor and for the same money buy now a Galaxy S6, which has a better screen and longer battery life. But 5X Nexus running stock Android, and that is one of the main reasons to go for this handset. When Google releases a new version of Android, you can with the 5X additionally immediately get to work. So you are assured of the freshest features and security updates.

If you are looking for a good all round smartphone with top camera and smooth Android experience, the 5X is a solid choice.

Samsung Galaxy S7 en S7 Edge review

Samsungs top smart phone of 2016 is in a sense a 2.0 version of the S6, partly because of the similar design, but with a lot of improvements and extras. So there is impovement to its appearance and your phone is waterproof, which is especially for a smartphone of glass and aluminum. Furthermore, it is nice that you can expand the storage memory this year with an SD card, even though Samsung does not support convenient adoptable storage function Marshmallow. He has almost all the luxury features you can expect from a high end smartphone, fingerprint scanner to NFC and heart rate to optical image stabilization.

Luxury is one thing, but certainly in this price everything stands or falls with the performance. The new Exynos 8 Octa chipset scores as expected over the rest of the field, but it also marks the next generation chips. Whether it's the fastest and most efficient Android smartphone, we will not know until we have owned phones with the new Snapdragon 820. The device is really fast and working smoothly, although perhaps not so surprising.

Well it surprised us how much the camera performance has improved, especially since the S6 had on the whole been the best smartphone camera in 2015. The light output of the camera is noticeably higher than that of the previous generation, and there is, despite the lower number of megapixels more detail in the pictures. The autofocus is much faster and more accurately by the new Dual Pixel technology.

The battery life of the S7 is significantly longer than the S6 and the screen is again high-quality, optionally with natural colors that jump about as off the screen. Furthermore, the software layer TouchWiz has been stripped last year and that line is happily put through. He is finer and easier to use, and the new "always on feature can be useful in some situations.

The retail price of the Galaxy S7 is as usual quite high in the top segment. Still, if it's like last year at S6, the device will in the first few months of fall comfortably in price. In addition, the S7 has a luxurious and elegant appearance and a full feature set, and he excels at key points. Altogether there are enough  reasons to immediately add S7 to your wishlist. It is a versatile phone which can be seen.
